Station Stories Presents Woolston Station Station Profile Station: Woolston (aka Hillsborough) Line: Christchurch – Lyttelton  Opened: 15/1/1883 Closed: 13/10/1986 Woolston station was opened on the 15 of January 1883 to serve the Woolston/Hillsborough areas. Unfortunately, there aren't many documents, records, or photos of Woolston station apart from its present-day self. Currently, NO passenger services run through Woolston Station only freight services. As seen in the photo above some of its sidings are still in use with the most commonly used being the LPC City Depot with daily shunts to the Depot. Also many times daily Port Shunts run through the station.
